Russia Spies and espionage!
Re: Russia Spies and espionage!
Wish I could say this is surprising if true. This is just one reporter's opinion, however. Nothing is conclusive and this is not necessarily fact.

This is what's dangerous about posting links to stories - people automatically think that because I post a link to a news story I automatically believe it's true like I'm using it to win my argument or prove something.
Nope! Here's a news item that I think is worthy to talk about and debate - starting with whether or not you think it's true.
Now, do I - Eric Renderking Fisk, a private citizen and in "non-Admin" mode believe that Hillary was working with Russia to win the election. Yes.
As a private citizen and in "non-Admin" mode believe that Trump was working with Russia to win the election. Yes.
I have no doubt that Russian agents were working both sides against the middle to rig this election of 2016 for their own needs.

That would just make sense if you think about things logically. I mean, people are complicated but their motivations are not. What would best serve Putin? Putting all his eggs into one basket? Nope. He wants to come out on top no matter who wins. By the same token, you're a Presidential candidate who wants dirt on your opponent and here are people willing to provide it. Once you win the election you'll be able to manipulate things to your advantage so why not? It would not surprise me if both Clinton and Trump worked with Russia. That would just make sense.Eric Renderking Fisk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 2:21 pmI have no doubt that Russian agents were working both sides against the middle to rig this election of 2016 for their own needs.
Re: Russia Spies and espionage!
I think that people should understand that Russia has been trying to manipulate American elections since they were Bolsheviks and their intelligence service was the CHEKA. It is in this light that I am surprised that everyone is so surprised that true to form the Russians tried to meddle in the 2016 elections. This is part of what strong or wanna be strong nations try to do. Obama tried to influence the Israeli elections to get rid of Netanyahu.
I this spirit I think the government should get out of shocked, shocked I tell you mode and get into a plan to counter such future meddling.

Dude...what if the reason polls say Americans are losing faith in mainstream media outlets is because Russian agents are interfering our opinion polls?
...dude.
...dude.

Dude?
Well, I think a safe position when viewing polls should be to remember that "Liars figure and figures lie". In that light polls can be given all the weight they deserve.

But ... but ... but ... how would our politicians know what their constituents really think? You can't trust what they actually say, you know. They just don't understand the nuance of political theory. Their words need to be parsed into language that politicians understand. </sarcasm>
