I'll save up my pennies for the last few bits I need and post the finished costume closer to the holiday, assuming Ren doesn't pull the plug on this place before then.


The best part of the whole thing was when my wife walked in. It went like this:

Herb's Wife: What the hell are you doing?
Herb: Nothing, honey. Just seeing how my new Halloween costume fits.
Herb's Wife: New, huh? How much did all of that crap cost?
(Herb waves a hand in front of her)
Herb: You don't need to know how much this cost.
Herb's Wife: I don't need to know how much this cost.
Herb: This was a necessary monetary expenditure.
Herb's Wife: This was a necessary monetary expenditure.
Herb: Now go make me a sandwich, bitch.

Yeah, I'm sure that is exactly how that exchange took place. On the other hand I have a feeling that this isn't the worst thing that she has walked in on you doing so.......

Truth is, she ignores me until she needs someone to yell at for either doing something or not doing something. (It's all the same in the end.)

She won't even notice until Halloween when I put the costume on, and then ask, "Where did you get this?" I'll just shrug and reply, "I've had all this for a while now." If she wants to know the cost, I tell her (truthfully) that I used my own money and nothing from our joint account. That usually settles it.


Oh, and +1 for the Iron Man reference.
